SO:LOTTO celebrates its First Birthday!
26 September 2022
We have recently celebrated our first SO:LOTTO Birthday.
Since launching last year SO:LOTTO players have raised over £9,500 of unrestricted funding for a diverse range of good causes providing support across the city.
Over 15,500 tickets have been sold to date with 336 supporters winning prizes including 41 cash prizes and over 880 free tickets being issued for those matching 2 balls. Prizes awarded have totalled £2,498 in value.
Lucky ticketholders have the chance to win up to £25,000 every Saturday through matching numbers. Prizes are: -
One group benefitting is Southampton Autism Support Services who had a lucky £250.00 winner 3 weeks ago.
When asked why she was playing SO:Lotto Ms G said
“With 3 sons with autism, I know that it is the people you meet who make all the difference to a life you didn't anticipate. Southampton Autism Services are those sort of people, who will get alongside, share knowledge, support through it all and at a time when there is a massive need. I am planning to use the winnings to buy my sons a piece of sensory equipment to help them self-regulate.
Being part of the SO:LOTTO is great fun. I enjoy seeing the weekly results, sharing in other people's wins, and now my own! You get to donate to a good cause of your choice - and enjoy yourself. Everybody wins”
Nick was a recent £25.00 winner supporting Communicare. He said “Communicare is a brilliant charity that makes an incredible impact to enhance the lives of isolated and lonely Southampton residents.
I don't enter SO Lotto with the motivation to win but to make a local difference. Of course, any win is a nice when it occurs.
SO Lotto is a fantastic way to raise funds for local Southampton charities whilst at the same time giving you the opportunity to win cash prizes and high valued vouchers. If you can afford to enter then please do, small charities like Communicare really appreciate the income they receive from it.
Tara, Southampton Voluntary Services Special Projects Development Worker said:
“It has been great to see so many diverse good causes from across the city and their supporters engage in SO:LOTTO over the last 12 months. Saturday at 8pm is our SO:LOTTO night, helping raise unrestricted funds for good causes across the city whilst providing an opportunity for their supporters to win prizes. We would like to congratulate them and thank everyone who has supported SO:LOTTO.
We are looking forward to seeing more groups and charities sign up and seeing more funds raised for groups across the city over the next year”
If you are a good cause in the city and wish to join in to raise funds please visit www.solotto.org.uk Likewise if you wish to support a local cause by purchasing a weekly £1.00 ticket. Players must be 16+ years of age.
